Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Remnant (the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Remnant. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement and that any date of birth you provide is accurate.
Remnant lets you record voice notes and pin them to physical GPS locations. Depending on how you configure a note, it may be:
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time, with or without notice.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@remnant-app.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
Ownership. You retain ownership of the voice notes and other content you create ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display that content solely as needed to operate the App (for example, delivering an unlocked note to you when you're physically at its location).
Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of sharing it. Do not record or share content that:
We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
Remnant's core functionality depends on your device's location services. You acknowledge that:
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate your account for violating this section.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that:
You acknowledge that technical issues may result in delayed, lost, corrupted, or inaccessible content, and you use the App at your own risk. We recommend not relying on Remnant as your sole storage location for irreplaceable content.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall we, our developers, or our affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, content, revenue, goodwill, or personal safety incident, arising out of or related to your use of the App — including damages arising from App glitches, data loss, location inaccuracy, or the conduct of other users — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) $50 USD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
The App relies on third-party infrastructure, including Firebase (Google LLC), for authentication and data storage. We are not responsible for outages, data handling practices, or issues caused by these third-party providers, though we will make reasonable efforts to maintain service continuity.
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms, without prior notice.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the App where practical.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable local law.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@remnant-app.com.
